Town of Vienna, VA
Home MenuEmergency Preparedness
In an emergency, always call 9-1-1
At a Town-wide level, emergencies can come in many forms: snowstorms, severe rainstorms, flooding, a large fire, a significant accident that impacts travel, a global pandemic or terrorist act, a missing child or elderly person, and widespread power outage, to name just a few possible emergency scenarios.
Led by the Vienna Police Department, who receives emergency information and, if needed, assistance from county, state, and federal agencies, the Town is well prepared to respond to emergencies. To the extent possible, Town staff plans and prepares for emergencies in advance and has established protocols for decision-making as well as communications with residents and others. If necessary, the police department can establish an Emergency Operations Center to centralize decision-making and communications.
