Town elections
Due to a change in Virginia election laws, Town Council elections no longer take place in May. The next Town Council election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. All seven Council seats will be on the ballot at the same time, rather than the staggered two-year term cycle in past elections.
You are eligible to vote in the Town's election if you are a Town of Vienna resident (many people have a Vienna mailing address, but don’t actually live within the Town limits) and registered to vote in Virginia.
Voting takes place at multiple polling locations for Town elections. To check your registration status and to find your polling location, visit the Virginia Department of Elections web portal. Polls are open 6 a.m-7 p.m. Virginia law requires all voters to show one acceptable form of identification.
Please note that all elections in Town, including those for Town Council, are managed by the Fairfax County Office of Elections. Questions are thus best directed to that office at 703-222-0776.
