Businesses located in the Town of Vienna are not subject to Fairfax County's Business/
Professional/Occupational license (BPOL) tax but will need to fulfill the Town's license tax requirements.
Fairfax County levies a tax each calendar year on all tangible personal property
used in a business, profession, trade, or occupation. Typically this includes machinery and tools,
furniture, equipment and fixtures. Businesses must report this to Fairfax County by May 1st
of each year.
If contractors are used for construction work in the Town of Vienna and the yearly
business gross receipt is projected to be over $25,000, then this form must be returned with your
business license application.
Any business owning or holding an automobile, truck, taxicab, trailer, boat, aircraft, semitrailer, van, recreational vehicle, moped, or motor home is required to file a return with Fairfax County on or before May 1st
This form gathers information to be used by the Vienna Police Department to notify
the business community of any emergency concerning their business location.
This application form will provide information for review with the conditional use permit
which is required if there are more than 8 unrelated children.
For child care providers who care for 5 or fewer unrelated children, apply online for a
Fairfax County Family Child Care Permit.
For those who care from more than 5 unrelated children or care for more than 3 children under the age of 2,
including her own, must apply for a State
License or call 703-934-1505.
Businesses, professions, trades, and occupations must file a renewal license
application and pay the license tax by March 1 of each year. Most of the Town's license taxes
are based on total gross receipts from the preceding business year.
